And Maggie “ Nikita ” Q slices a guy rope into tiny pieces while ride on a motorcycle . That ’s probably all you require to know right there .
The Big Bang ( May 13 )
We ’re sort of weirdly mesmerised with this movie , in which Antonio Banderas is a private police detective who takes on his strangest case yet — in which some scientist are trying to recreate the Big Bang , and it ’s lead to a lot of noirish upshot . The trailer include eldritch earthquakes and apocalyptical happenings , so it looks like play God turns out about as well as it usually does in the movies . It ’ll be fascinating to see the scientific calamity movie blended with film noir — wonder how it ’ll turn out .
Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides ( May 20 )
Captain Jack Sparrow is back one more time , and this time there are zombies and evil mermaid and the fountain of youth . Everybody involved with the series keeps insisting that this one will make more sensation than the last two , and they ’ve pare back the subplots and excesses to a accomplishable story . Plus Keith Richards is making a retort appearance as Jack ’s dad , and Penelope Cruz has intimate tension with Johnny Depp . Could be fun .
The Tree of Life ( May 27 )
No , we still do n’t know whether , or how , this Terence Malick picture belongs on this leaning . On one story , it seems like just a plain honest-to-god issue forth - of - age story about a son dealing with his kinship with his female parent and father . But there are all sorts of hints that there ’s a cosmic aspect to the tarradiddle , dole out with the birth and dying of the universe . This film is from the music director of Snakes on a planer , who feel as though “ ungentle 3 - D Shark Thriller ” tells you everything you take to know .
