Winner: Laser Man!
Beams of light split the foggy darkness . A form emerged , his silhouette fail the ignitor . Who was he ? A time traveler ? A visitor from another domain ? No … it was just me stand in front of a optical maser projector , trying not to violently shiver and mess up up the shot . This one is actually moderately basic , but it take numerous attempts to get the right angles and for me to arrest still enough for the 30 - arcsecond photo to get the trust impression . A haze machine helped to illuminate the laser beams and lend some ambience to the scene . Photoshop was used to remove a isolated light-emitting diode in the background and up the luminance / contrast . Sony Alpha SLT - A55 with the 18 - 55 mm outfit crystalline lens : 30 shutter , f/11 aperture , ISO-400 .

Laser Dragon!
For inspiration , I fag up my green optical maser and walked around my house pointing it at anything reflective or methamphetamine hydrochloride . Finding this glass figurine ( in the first place from Amboise , France ) , I used the laser to alight him up . The longer shutter velocity ( 8 indorsement for example ) light up it too equally , so the faster shutter with mingy aperture worked better . you may see the optical maser on the ground below the root word of the soma ! Canon T2i , 3″2 , f/20 , ISO 1600 , kit lens ( 18 - 55 ) @ 24 mm .

Laser Self-Portrait!
The photo is a self portraiture that was taken at the laser show using a timer . I did this myself by prepare the photographic camera on a 10 second timer running in front knocking people out of the mode throwing my hands in the atmosphere . I did this repeatedly until I got a want injection . masses kept looking at me like a mad human race running around with my hand in the air . I go to admit , leaving the camera without oversight even for 10 minute was a bit nerve breaking . Nikon D7000 , Lens : Nikon 35 mm f/1.8 Speed : 1/15 ISO : 800 Aperture : f/1.8

Laser Burj Khalifa!
As evoke in the challenge I require the laser to be the subject . I care that the beams stands out against the world ’s tallest building – the Lego Burj Khalifa and mixed nail and pens used for the apparent horizon . The optical maser is from a Christmas themed DJ’ing box that I got on deduction before pull out all the spinny Santa Claus etching . This allow for a simple green and ruddy optical maser beam . No photoshopping beyond desaturating the RAW filing cabinet and bring a minor highlight to the top of the tower . Shot on a table against a puritanical background with a red trickle light behind the horizon . The breaking ball of the beam was accomplish by bounce the beam off the edge of a metal saw . Canon Eos1000D ISO 100 , 10 - 24 mm wide angle genus Lens . I spent the whole time terrified that I ’d target the beam into the sensing element . No more shuddery challenges please .

Laser Party!
This shot was taken at the TECHNICOLOR 2 dance and optical maser promiscuous show event in Houston , TX . My friend and I found out about the case just after reading the latest Giz shooting challenge , so we figured we had to go . Managed to get permission from the coordinators to fetch DSLRs in , and the playfulness was ready to be had . Neither of us had ever shot an event like this before , so it took some learning as we go away along , but we end up with a bunch of really coolheaded shots . shoot on a Nikon D7000 at 1/15 and ISO 800 . Lens was a Nikkor 35 millimeter at f/1.8 . earlier tried for longer slam , but institute that I liked the crisper expression of the optical maser in the inadequate shooting well , so I spent all night shooting the fastest lens in my bag , the little 35 mm . The bartenders at the back of the event were cool , and get me set up up my tripod on a platform behind the bar , so I was able-bodied to get some nerveless shot of the optical maser effects without having the crowd blockade my horizon .

Laser Ring!
I want to “ split ” the beam of light of the laser into multiple beams . After try out a few things lying around the house I finally stumbled on my wife ’s hymeneals pack ! I pointed the optical maser decent at it and really like the look of all the facets of the diamond “ splitting ” the laser beam . In photoshop I did some cropping and turned the laser from red to blue . Canon T2i w/ kit lens f5.6 1/2s iso 200 .

Laser DJ!
Other than photography , I would have to say my other passion lie in euphony . So when I am able to commingle the two together , I am plausibly one of the happy people you will run into – and that is exactly what this weeks challenge countenance me do ! In the picture offer , I locomote to see a few local DJ ’s perform with an amazing optical maser light show going on behind them while they played . My goal was to captivate the intensity of the optical maser used during the show , expressing the different push stratum of each song being meet . Overall the show was awe-inspiring , and I have n’t had so much fun take depiction of lasers before until this challenge . This photo was shot with a Nikon D7000 . photo time was 1/13 of a 2nd , F - stop was f/4.2 and the ISO was set to 1600 .

Laser Man! The Return!
I see this shoot rivalry on the daylight that we took delivery of our novel RGB laser at work , so course I have it as a sign to experiment with some shots ! It was fritter on a Sony Alpha 350 18 - 70 mm lense with a 3.2 2d exposure with me stood in the middle of a darkened stage . ISO 200 f/13
