Australian horror film Prey is fall out on DVD next week , retitled for Americans as The Outback . Because zombies and situational gay woman just scream “ steakhouse . ” In any eccentric , this chainsaw - slashing zombie attack scene is actually quite well .
For some reason the living dead in this movie are fire zombies , so they have flame come off their face and clobber . It ’s kind of neat - looking . And the sleep of the moving-picture show is a jolly piece of cultus giddiness , with Australian doer playing a crowd of Americans on vacation in Australia — it ’s deserving charter just for the simulated American accents alone . Plus the fact that there are some bizarre continuity errors , like in one conniption they ’ll have two machine , then three cars , then two car again .
But mostly , it ’s deserving checking out for the CG snake pit that the burn - faced zombie husk of their Quaker tries to thrust them in at the end . Oh , and for the random amorousness . As onereviewer on IMDB puts it , “ Who acknowledge that happily coupled American / Australian girls were so inclined towards sapphism during a time of crisis ? ” And then there ’s this fantastic scene :
