Remember when you were excited about American Gods , and then — perhaps somewhere inthe slog of time of year two , whenthe show ’s behind the scenes turmoilbegan to get up with it — you start feeling like it was a task to watch ? Some stray news show for season three might not turn your hear around .
Or perhaps it will , if you ’re a fan of iconoclastic musician Marilyn Manson , who ’s racked up quite a few playact credits over the years , some of them placing him in unexpected places ( Sons of Anarchy , The New Pope ) . But his role on the Neil Gaiman Starz series feels a little on the nozzle , at leastaccording to this Deadline reportthat describes it :
No stranger to the pocket-size cover , the Sons of Anarchy alumnus will recreate blood line - thirsty Johan Wengren , tip singer of the Viking demise metal lot Blood Death — well within the blow rocker ’s wheelhouse . Wengren and Blood Death are also a source of power for the Ian McShane - impersonate Mr. Wednesday in his war with the New Gods .

Manson will be on the show for four episodes , so maybe there ’ll be enough clip for his character to show some surprising layer that do n’t feel like typecasting ? American Gods ’ third showrunner in three seasons , Chic Eglee , told Deadline “ [ Manson ’s ] performance promise to be disturbing , original and uniquely entertaining . ”
