A span in Northern California late uncovered a time capsule hunter ’s dreaming : six metallic element canister shot filled with rare coin , evaluate at about $ 10 million .
The canisters were meet with a total of1,427 coin , all dating from 1847 to 1894 . The face - note value of the coin only contribute up to about $ 27,000 . But the fact that so many are rarefied and in such pristine condition leads some people to estimate that they could be worth about $ 10 million .
The time capsules were all found on the couple ’s property in theGold Countryregion of California while they were out walk their frank . Apparently the yoke spotted a small bit of metal perplex out of the earth and embark on to dig . They ( quite understandably ) wish to remain anon. .
