It seems that the Chernobyl nuclear reactor is seal with a structure that will not hold . Not to worry ; a new cachet is being readied . But it ’s go to be weird .
Although nuclear worries are more predominant than ever , it seemed like Chernobyl was safely past . The area around it had become a spectacular nature conserves . The local government had even begun to offer spell of the 1986 nuclear disaster land site . But more trouble lurked , in the shape of the ‘ sarcophagus ’ . The sarcophagus , a huge steel - and - concrete archway build apace to contain the radiactivity emitted by the short-winded nuclear reactor , was only meant as a temporary measure . It ’s aging , falling into disrepair , and may collapse if reach by too hard a tremor . A replacement coffin is being built – to the melody of 2.1 billion dollar bill – and its details , while the only practical engineering science solution , are very unknown .
The new sarcophagus will start out as an arch so marvellous it could shelter the Statue of Liberty from rain . It will not be constructed on site , but will be put up quickly nearby from pre - fabricated role . It will them slew forward towards the nuclear reactor on teflon – yes , teflon – carriage until it slip into place .

An arch alone is n’t enough , even if it can help as a jitney protection for giants . The erstwhile arch remains need to be dealt with . This is where the raw sarcophagus will live on up to its name . Robot subdivision will be build inside the structure . Once the structure is completely sealed , the golem blazon will play as servants bury with the reactor . The sleeve will take apart the old sarcophagus , and clean up any radioactive rubble inside the complex body part . No word if they ’ll be paint the walls with messages warning any future people who break in that removing objects from the sarcophagus will run to a horrifying , former last . We can only assume they will .
