A Massachusetts DoorDash driver likely didn’t expect that their Dunkin' delivery run would end in a swamp.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities learned from the caller that they were a DoorDash driver following GPS instructions to an address in Middleton to deliver Dunkin'. The driver had the DoorDash order with them when they made contact.

According to the “panicked” motorist, the vehicle was being driven on a dirt road during the delivery run when it somehow ended up in a body of water.

Middleton Police said that a search resulted in the vehicle being located down a dirt path behind 18 Kenney Road. The vehicle was found still running and partially submerged in the water.

“The vehicle was towed from the scene and there did not appear to be any leakage from the vehicle into the body of water,” said police.

Resident Jim Delaney toldWCVB: “We go, ‘There’s a lady in the swamp behind my house.’ I assume — I got a neighbor down around the bend — that she was going there, and she was guessing away, but once she got down to this point, you think she would’ve turned around.”

Middleton Police said that the DoorDash driver will be charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, perNBC, adding that a request for immediate threat license suspension was also filed with the state’s Registry of Motor Vehicles.

PEOPLE reached out to the Middleton Police Department for additional information about the incident and the condition of the driver, but they did not immediately respond for comment.
