RapperKodak Blackwas arrested on drug possession charges in Florida on Thursday, marking the musician’s third arrest in two years.
Black, who was listed under his legal name, Bill Kapri, was released the same day on $5,000 bond, according toNBC News.
An attorney for the star did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The officer allegedly noticed “a strong odor of burnt cannabis” upon approaching the vehicle, and opened the car door to find a cup that smelled of alcohol and drug paraphernalia in the center console, the report said.
Black was then asked to exit the vehicle, and when asked if he had weapons or anything illegal in his possession, said he had weed. The officer then said he noticed a white powder, and noted in the report, “I reasonably believed [Black] was trying to discard illegal narcotics.”
The report said a white substance found at the scene tested positive for cocaine, and weighed in at 4.1 grams.
Black, who released his sixth albumWhen I Was Deadin November, was ordered to a 30-day drug rehab in February after he tested positive for fentanyl during a mandatory drug test, according to theAssociated Press. He also reportedly had a warrant for his arrest issued in June after he skipped a mandatory drug test (Black was chargedwith trafficking oxycodone and possession of a controlled substance in July 2022, with regular drug testing a condition of his release).
“Never judge a case based on an arrest,” his attorney Bradford Cohen told PEOPLE at the time of his arrest. “There are facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case.”
The musician was also arrested in Pompano Beach, Florida in 2022 on allegations of trespassing, and in 2021, entered a deal toplead guilty to first-degree assault and batteryafter he was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in February 2016.
