“Cruel Summer"has been anything but toTaylor Swift.
The track from Swift’s seventh studio albumLoverreached No. 1 on theBillboardHot 100, amid theEras Tour filmbecomingthe biggest concert debut everand just days after the “Maroon” singer, 33, releasednew mixes of “Cruel Summer.”
On Monday, Swift and shareda video on Instagramfeaturing the song’s co-writer and producerJack Antonoffcelebrating the good news with the caption, “IT’S COOL 😎.”
At the start of the clip, Swift and Antonoff, 39, both playfully yell and interrupt each other while sharing their excitement over the success of “Cruel Summer.”
“Our favorite song fromLoverfrom five years ago. The song that we said was the best song but we thought, ‘Oh, you know what? This is going to be our secret best song.’ That’s what we thought,” the “Don’t Take the Money” musician says in the video.
Swift interjects, while pulling at the fabric of her olive green sweater, “We just wanted to say thank you so much for making ‘Cruel Summer’ a Hot 100 No. 1. And it’s not even the summer anymore, it’s deep fall. I’m wearing a sweater.”
“It’s deep fall,” Antonoff concurs, before the pop megastar adds “we love you guys” with a wink.

Alongside the video, Swift shared two photos of the duo. The first image features Swift in a brown plaid blazer holding up her pointer finger at her longtime collaborator to signal the No. 1 achievement while Antonoff is in a blue T-shirt holding up his hands in excitement.
The second image features the “I Can See You” performer in the same ensemble holding up her finger toward the camera to signal the No. 1 achievement while Antonoff, in the same T-shirt, is laughing with his hands over his head.

According toBillboard, Swift has now become one of the only artists to earn 10 or more No. 1 hits on the Hot 100 with the success of “Cruel Summer.” It previously “peaked at No. 3” when it was released in 2019 onLover, prior to being promoted as a single and earning more traction amid theEras Tour.
Last Wednesday, Swift released the live and remixed versions of “Cruel Summer” with fans.
“What a truly mind blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into. I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for 😇,” Swiftcaptioned a post on Instagramthat evening.
